<description>I have often wondered about the role Facebook will play in the future of the web and the battle that is being waged with Google.

It seems the two exists at polar opposites and are both striving for a central point of the spectrum where users will utilize their platform solely for their web needs of social, search and web browsing. I am excited to see how this will all play out as a user of both platforms.

As for your question: &quot;who will be the Linux to Facebook&#039;s Microsoft?&quot; I was wondering if you had seen Firefox&#039;s Ubiquity. Aza Raskin&#039;s keynote explains the dream he has for the software and how he would like it to become the central point for a users web experience through language-based browsing.
