I am super excited to be featured as a track keynote speaker at Blogworld Los Angeles in a few weeks. This will be the fifth Blogworld I’ve attended, the third I’ve spoken at, and my first keynote at what has become one of my favorite conferences of the year.
This year, I’m doing something a little bit different. Instead of a research presentation, I’m going to take a step back and look at the withering torrent of information the social web is throwing off, and help attendees cut through the crap and make sense of it all. My session is called, appropriately enough, Drowning in Numbers: Turning Social Media Data into Insight, which long-time readers here will recognize as the principal theme of this blog.
Social media is ushering in a new era of Big Data, but not all of that data is usable, useful or actionable. So, this year, I’m not going to add to the problem by presenting more . Instead, using Captain Crunch, rotting meat, tea and spray-tan, I’m going to talk about how to think about all these data, and what you can do with it to improve your lot in life.
If you are in the business of creating content for your brand, product or service, this is the conference to attend. I hope you’ll make it to my session, which kicks off the whole conference on Thursday morning, November 3rd, at 9:45 AM. Also speaking at the same time are two young upstarts to social media, Liz Strauss and Chris Brogan, so if my session doesn’t tickle your fancy, you’ve got two pretty great alternatives, and that’s just the beginning of three very packed days.
So do come. You can even use this code to save a little dough: BWEVIP20. I’ll be there the whole time, so even if you don’t make my keynote, look me up. I’d love to meet you.
